Duy Tan University Attends THE Asia Universities Summit 2025 in Macau

From April 22 to 24, 2025, representatives of Duy Tan University attended the THE Asia Universities Summit 2025, held at Macau University of Science and Technology and organized by Times Higher Education (THE). This year’s summit carried the theme: “Asia’s rise: A transformative journey in science, technology and innovation.”

The event brought together leaders from hundreds of universities, research institutes, and academic organizations across Asia and beyond to explore key strategies for sustainable development and educational innovation in higher education. Discussions focused on three central themes:

  • Collaborative innovation: Strengthening links between universities, research centers, businesses, and the startup ecosystem – with special attention to the role of women in technology and their contributions to peace in the region.
  • Asia’s science and technology institutions today: Sharing applied research models that address global challenges such as biotechnology, the digital economy, and sustainable agriculture, while promoting balanced growth between the Global North and South.
  • Looking to the future: Exploring the growing role of Asian universities in shaping societies, economies, environments, and smart urbanization, with an emphasis on digital inclusion and sustainability.

During the summit, the THE Asia University Rankings 2025 were officially announced. Duy Tan University maintained its position among the Top 251–300 universities in Asia, and proudly stood as one of only nine Vietnamese institutions ranked this year. This recognition highlights the university’s continued progress in improving academic quality, advancing research and innovation, and promoting global engagement.

A major highlight of the summit was the THE Awards Asia 2025 ceremony – widely regarded as the “Oscars of Asian higher education.” The awards honored outstanding achievements in areas such as academic leadership, teaching, research, digital transformation, and community contribution. These prestigious and inspirational awards recognize universities that make tangible, positive impacts on society and the academic landscape.

Duy Tan University’s participation in the THE Asia Universities Summit 2025 offered valuable opportunities to expand international partnerships, stay informed about emerging trends in global education, and reinforce the university’s commitment to continuous quality improvement and global integration. This marks another meaningful step in the university’s journey toward meeting international standards and contributing to the future of higher education in the region.
